YAKIMA, WA.- Many of us got an Amber Alert sent to us around 6 Tuesday night, it was for a young mother and her daughter, after a witness saw the two get pushed into a car and taken away.

Fortunately, mother and child both turned up safe, however this situation could have been a lot worse.

Yakima Police told us the kidnapper could have taken the mother and daughter as far away as California, because by the time they got a call from the witness it had been six hours since either of the victims had been seen.

Police didn't get a call about the possible kidnapping until 4:00 in the afternoon and by the time they were able to do some investigating and send out an Amber Alert it was already 6:30.

The witness told police she saw 18 year old Kyle Arellano pushing 20 year old Vivianna Cruz and her three year old daughter  Lupita Tellez into a car and then driving away early Tuesday morning.

We did have a chance to speak with Kyle Arellano, he's currently in a Spokane jail, but he told us he didn't kidnap them, he claims they went to Spokane to start a new life.

"We came over here last night and just wanted to start our lives and then everything went bad. I'm just lost right now, they're telling me I could get life right now or I could not, I just don't know," Arellano said.

Officers canceled the Amber Alert around 7:30 last night after both the mother and daughter showed up at a Spokane police precinct.

Police told us they found Kyle Arellano at a relatives house in the area. A swat team was called in and there was a short standoff before Arellano peacefully surrendered.

Police are still looking into a possible motive and the reason the three ended up in the Spokane area.

Arellano is currently in the Spokane County Jail, but he'll be brought back to Yakima. He's facing several different charges including kidnapping and burglary.

PREVIOUS - An AMBER Alert out of Yakima for a missing child and her mother is over. Police say 3 year old Lupita Tellez and her mother, 20 year old Vivianna Cruz, were found safe in Spokane.

Police also arrested the suspect, 18 year old Kyle Arellano after a short SWAT standoff at a house in Spokane Valley around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. Arellano eventually came out of the house and police say he gave himself up peacefully.

He is now facing multiple charges including kidnapping and burglary.

Police are now talking with the mother to figure out what happened.
