PASCO, WA - Manufacturing is big business in the Tri-Cities.

To show-case some of it, TRIDEC held its second annual Grow Manufacturing Luncheon and Expo at the TRAC in Pasco on Wednesday.

It gives manufacturing companies in the area a chance to network and get the word out about the industry and grow their businesses.

Organizer and TRIDEC Director Gary White says the top three industries in the area are beverage, food and Hanford.

"Trying to show off our local manufacturing, everybody is familiar with Hanford, obviously a big player in our economy. Most people are familiar with the food and beverage industry in Benton and Franklin counties. Again big player in our economy, but we also have a number of manufacturers that are not involved in the food and beverage industry that we just wanted to recognize," says White.

The key note speaker was Tom Nault the President and COO of Summit Imaging.

The Impact Washington Manufacturer of the Year award went to Carbitex, a flexible carbon fiber technology company.
