Kennewick and Richland Area Ranked 7th Best Place for EMTs and Paramedics

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, WA- Recently, the Kennewick-Richland area was voted the seventh best place for EMTs and paramedics to live and work.

GoodCall is a data research team out of South Carolina that analyzed a total of 750 cities across the U.S. The cities all were analyzed on their competitive salaries, affordable housing and a healthy job market.

We talked to Kennewick Fire Department today and Emergency Medical Services Officer, Eric Nilson. He was not surprised when he heard they were ranked top ten in the nation. He told us, "and we make a big difference we get to see the things we're doing in the field make huge impacts in an individual's life, saving lives and that's job satisfaction those are things dollars can't buy those are things that just they get you here in the heart and make you keep wanting to do it for a long time".

Part of the what helped their ranking, according to Nilson, is the job satisfaction Kennewick offers by continuously upgrading and progressing their trucks. Their medic trucks have a laptop installed in the front seat to help expedite the process to of inputting the patient's information on site.

Nilson has lived and worked in Kennewick for 20 years. He understands why EMTs and paramedics would want to start working in Kennewick and continue their careers here as well.
