RICHLAND, WA- Warrior Sisterhood hosted a big even at The Parkway in Richland to raise awareness about Breast Cancer and to help those fighting it.

The event was put on by Warrior Sisterhood, a support group through the Tri-Cities Cancer Center that helps newly diagnosed women emotionally and financially.  Participants got mimosas, wine, or beer along with discounts at stores at The Parkway.

There was also music, door prizes, Miss Tri-Cities, Tri-Cities Fever Dancers, along with a fashion show.

One woman said being a part of this group makes all the difference in women's lives.

"We're young and we're full of life still and we want to remind ourselves that we're not just a cancer patient that wants to sit and talk about that disease.  What we really like to do is fulfill that need for women that like to do activities and women like to do something outside the norm of the regular cancer support group," said Misty Ovens, Warrior Sisterhood co-founder.

All the proceeds from the event will stay local and go towards helping the Warrior Sisterhood support group.
