KENNEWICK, WA- American Legion Kennewick Post 4 sold $7 pulled pork sandwiches and coleslaw Saturday for a good cause.

The BBQ benefit helped to raise money for the various services Kennewick Post 4 does throughout the community.  The post said this is something they hope is a great way to help out for a good cause while serving up some good food.

"They provide the dogs free of charge to get a service dog trained, it's pretty expensive.  Any money that comes in to them helps them train dogs and get them out to veterans in need," said Jereme Ekiert, said the post commander.

The sandwiches were packed with pork and coleslaw.  The money will help Northwest Battle Buddies, which is an organization that provides service animals to veterans.  Next week, American Legion Kennewick Post 4 will have another BBQ Benefit at Thunder Rally in Pasco at the Swap Meet.
