Kennewick Fire Department Goes to Pink to raise Awareness for Breast Cancer

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, WA - For Breast Cancer Awareness Month The Kennewick Fire Department is going pink.

Crews at all fire stations are wearing and have sold these pink t-shirts.

In the past year they've sold over 1200 shirts and all the proceeds are going to the Tri-Cities Cancer Center.

Tamara bell with KFD says fundraisers like this are a great way to give back to the community they serve.

"Its exciting, its exciting to be able to be part of such a big organization. The International organization of fire fighters teams up every year with the Susan G. Coleman foundation, to try and raise money and awareness for breast cancer research and its exciting to be apart of that. To bring it here to our local community and to try and raise money for our local Tri Cities Cancer Center," said Bell.

However, unfortunately the shirts are all sold out right now but the Kennewick Fire Department says they do plan on ordering more. The shirts cost 20 dollars.
