Student Dancers in the Tri-Cities Take Riverdance Master Class

KENNEWICK, WA - A group of dance students in the Tri-Cities got the chance to learn the Riverdance from the best.

About 50 students from Dance Connection and The Dance Class took a Riverdance Master Class Tuesday afternoon at the Dreamers Lounge at the Toyota Center in Kennewick.

The class was hosted by three dancers who are in a Broadway production.

Students put on their tap shoes and were able to learn hard shoe dancing and Irish dance techniques.

We got a chance to talk with one of the dance instructors about what it means to teach this kind of class.

"All of us love dancing, it's our passion and we like to teach to the next generation or people who have been doing different styles of dance. It's great to show our culture as well. This is Irish dancing and Ireland is where I come from so it's great to be able to show people that have never done it before." says Sarah Woods, Riverdance Troupe Dancer.

Student dancers also got to learn one of the main dance numbers from the Riverdance on Broadway show.
