WASCO COUNTY, OR -  Oregon State Police say on October 22, 2015 at about 2:30 p.m. Oregon Department of Transportation employees were conducting maintenance along Interstate 84 near milepost 89 (two miles east of The Dalles) when they found the body of a dead man.

They notified OSP who responded and conducted a death investigation.

Troopers say the man was about 75 feet from the highway in a wooded area and had been there for some time. The man was identified as Jaeray C. Jackson, 25, from Goldendale, Washington.

Initial investigation indicates his injuries were self inflicted.

OSP was assisted by ODOT and Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue.

More information will be released as it becomes available.
