NEAR MARLIN, WA- A 10-year-old Marlin, Wash., boy died Saturday afternoon after his ATV rolled over.

10-year-old Terrence Gross was driving a John Deere Gator-type ATV east of Road 18-Northeast and Road U-Northeast in Grant County. The Grant County Sheriff's Office said Gross lost control, which caused the ATV to rollover and land on top of him. He died at the scene.

Deputies said the 16-year-old passenger on the ATV had back pain but declined treatment at the scene.

An autopsy of Gross's body will be done Monday to determine the cause and manner of death.

“I was just stunned when deputies let me know of the sudden death of such a young man,” said Sheriff Tom Jones. “The Gross family has longtime deep roots in our county and I want them to know my prayers are with them.”
