RICHLAND, WA - Washington State University is now offering a one year pilot credit transfer program for the first time. The program helps students transferring from community college to Washington State stay on track at a four year university. WSU Tri-Cities has actually been offering this for a few years but now the university is trying it out statewide.

The Reverse Pilot Transfer Program is a partnership with WSU and the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges. The program gives student the chance to finish their associates degree while also working towards a bachelors. Although it's only a pilot program WSU Tri-Cities says they have seen the benefits it can bring to the students and school.
"We have every intention that this program will continue to flourish because we know that reverse transfer works here at WSU Tri-Cities... It gives them more opportunities for growth and also it benefits the universities in terms of making sure the students complete degrees at both institutions," says Chris Meiers, Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management and Student Services.

Now students can just as easily transfer to the Pullman campus under the program just like they have been able to in the Tri-Cities. If you are not yet a student and want to check your eligibility the school recommends that you speak with your academic advisor.
