Grandview School District Says They're Investigating Allegations A Teacher's Aide Duct Taped Students

Posted: Updated:

GRANDVIEW, WA.- A Parent in the Grandview area is claiming a teacher's aide put duct tape on her child. It's still in the beginning stages of investigation, but we started looking into the case after a parent called us.

She told us a teacher's aide at a Grandview school duct taped her autistic son's shoe to his foot. The woman who called initially told us she would speak to us, but then said her attorney advised she wait till more information is released in the investigation.

While speaking to her she did mention another girl in her son's class with down syndrome was duct taped to a chair. The mother did tell us the teacher's aide is currently suspended, but the school district said they were not able to confirm the suspension, only that only that they are at this time investigating.

We did reach out to the Grandview Police Department they told us a police report was filed last Wednesday alleging a teacher's aide did duct tape a student.

The police department was not able to give us any more information, however they did say the investigation will likely be handled by the school district.

We're hoping to speak with the families involved and the school district as soon as more information is released.
