WAKE UP YOUR HEALTH: National Orthodontic Month

Posted: Updated:

WAKE UP YOUR HEALTH: October is National Orthodontic Awareness Month.

Wednesday morning on Wake Up Northwest we spoke with Chelsea Andros of Andros Orthodontics, she says some people may not realize the importance of orthodontic care.

She says they recommend kids see an orthodontist by the age of seven. There are things your orthodontist looks for that your dentist and pediatrician do not. Those are things like cross-bites, over-bites or crowding. If those issues are caught early, it can prevent a longer treatment later on.

Adults are also seeking orthodontic care. About 1 in 4 patients for braces are adults.

There are also new kinds of braces and treatments, to learn more, watch our full interview featured Wednesday morning.
