20-Year-Old Mesa Man Injured in SR 17 Crash Thursday Morning

MESA, WA- Washington State Troopers say a semi truck hit a pickup truck on SR 17 near Merion Road about 6 miles north of Mesa Thursday morning.

Throughout an investigation troopers discovered the semi driver, 45-year-old Oscar Arteaga of Pasco, was trying to turn into the northbound lanes of SR 17 just before 8 a.m. when he failed to yield.

Arteaga hit 20-year-old Caleb Bowman of Mesa, he was injured in the crash and sent to Kadlec Medical Center for treatment.

WSP troopers cited the semi driver with failure to yield. Drugs or alcohol did not play a factor in the crash.
