Kittitas County, WA-- A 60-year-old North Bend man died at a Kittitas County campsite after being stung by hornets, the Sheriff's Office says.

Warren Brown reportedly collapsed while cutting campfire wood around 2:30 p.m. Friday off U.S. Forest Service Road 3350, about 8 miles south of Cle Elum.

Witnesses told Kittitas County Sheriff's deputies that Brown suffered multiple hornet sings when he disturbed a hornet's nest while cutting wood.

Lifesaving efforts by friends and medical staff from the local fire district and hospital district were unsuccessful.
