Posted: Updated:

WALLA WALLA, WA - Everyone is invited to come join the Walla Walla VA Medical Center on Friday, November 6th from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm in VAWW's Theater Bldg. (Bldg. 78) to help us honor and recognize the Veterans that live in our community.

8 Veterans have been invited from Walla Walla VA Medical Center's main clinic and community based outpatient clinics (this includes Veterans from Lewiston ID, Richland & Yakima WA, and La Grande OR) and will be on hand to visit with the public to share their stories of service.

Each Veteran will have a newly produced "Honoring America's Veterans" baseball-style card that can be signed and shared with the public.

Walla Walla VA's Director, Brian Westfield, will offer a short introductory speech to open up the event and his focus will be on those Veterans that live in our communities who are our neighbors, friends, business owners, volunteers, and as well as VA employees - those who bravely served this country, and who we are honor every year on Veterans Day for their many sacrifices.

Another highlight of the event will be an exhibit shared by the Fort Walla Walla Museum on a significant archaeological discovery at the Walla Walla VA Medical Center, the original Fort Walla Walla hospital site.

There will also be information on Fort Walla Walla Museum's special exhibit, "Walla Walla and the World Wars" which features connections between our area and those wars. These connections include local Veterans, the Walla Walla Army Air Base, and McCaw Army Hospital.
