Columbia River Circuit Finals Rodeo Returns to Yakima

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, WA - The Columbia River Circuit Finals Rodeo is making a big comeback to the Yakima Valley. Some of the best athletes from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) will be competing over the next 2 days at the Yakima Valley SunDome.

This year's finals promise to be the pinnacle of rodeo season in the region, drawing the top contestants from Oregon, Washington & Northern Idaho. The last time the finals took place in Yakima was back in the 90's. Rowdy Barry, President of the Circuit and a native of Central Washington tells us he's excited to bring this event back to this city and hopes to keep it here.

"I think the home of the circuit finals should be right here in Yakima and so I'm responsible for bringing it here and working hard to keep it here but i also need the community's support," said Barry.

The top cowboys and cowgirls from the PRCA will be competing in several events, including bareback, tie down roping, bull riding and barrel racing.

"If you've gone to the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) or want to go to the NFR, this is the type of competition and level that you will see down there," said Barry.
