RICHLAND, WA- Families watched as 10 contestants participated in the 2nd Annual Sparkle and Shine Pageant in Richland Saturday afternoon.

Kadlec helped put on the pageant at Chief Jo Middle School in Richland.  There were 10 participants, 9 girls and one boy.  This pageant was designed for special needs children and gave them a chance to shine and showcase their talents.

One family said this was their first time participating.

"Do you like your crown?" said Julie Sumsion, mother of Aiden Sumsion, crowned Miss Kindness.

"Yeah!" said Aiden.

"We heard about it and we thought it would be a great opportunity for her to come and have a nice day and get to be special her and not have to worry about doctors or anything else and just have a good time and just know how special she is," said Julie.

A short video played for each participant as they walked on the red carpet for Miss Tri-Cities and Miss Tri-Cities Outstanding Teen to crown them.
