WEST PASCO, WA- Neighbors in a West Pasco neighborhood dedicated a swing Saturday for 11-year-old Jaden Rugg who died in August but left behind so many memories for families and friends.

The swing is Casa Del Sol Park in West Pasco.  Jaden Rugg was born with Down Syndrome and was not expected to live past three months, but lived to be 11 years old.  He passed away in August.

The West Pasco neighborhood he lived in shared the memories he left behind.  They missed him so much, that they got together to raise money to place a memorial swing in Jaden's favorite park.  They chose a swing because Jaden was actually the first person to ever swing on a swing in that park once it was built.

The neighbors surprised Jaden's grandmother who lives across the street from the park with the memorial.

"I can't even explain it and there were 100 people.  I thought somebody was having a birthday party, but instead they dedicated a swing to my grandson because we came everyday to swing and this is a wonderful memorial for him," said Connie Wells, Jaden Rugg's grandmother.

After they unwrapped the swing and shared memories of Jaden, each person released a balloon in the air for him.

Family and friends hope the swing serves as a reminder of his life and what he gave to each and everyone of them.
