Memorial in Sunnyside Unveils New Additions in Time for Veteran's Day

Posted: Updated:
YAKIMA, Wash. -

With veterans day just days away now, Sunnyside is planning what they call the "biggest veterans memorial in the pacific northwest”

The memorial in Sunnyside has just received 2 new granite stones in honor of veterans missing in action and those who are prisoners of war...

According to memorial chairman Greg Schlieve, the 2 new stones will join 16 more that will be dedicated throughout the next 6 years.

"To get a remembrance of those veterans from Sunnyside who were once held as prisoners of war. That was our initial push. Get them done first because that's what we felt was most important to our citizens...”

The memorial will be the location for this years veterans day gathering in Sunnyside which will start at 11 am on Wednesday.
