KENNEWICK, WA - A chef and culinary artist made a stop at Tri-Tech Monday to teach the art of fruit and vegetable carving.

Chef Duey has won multiple awards and medals for his art.  He has also been seen on the Food Network and has carved fruit for the White House.

He showed students in the culinary arts how to create some basic to more intricate designs all using different fruits and vegetables.

Chef Duey said, "I teach them a kind of different way of thinking when it comes to food presentation and artistry. And let them know with just a little bit of practice and a little bit of effort they can transform the ordinary into, well for a lack of a better term, the extraordinary."
