Coats for Kids Drive in Full Swing in Yakima & Tri-Cities

Posted: Updated:

WAKE UP NORTHWEST - Thanks to the generosity of donors, sponsors and businesses over the last 30 years, the Coats for Kids campaign is making sure kids in our area get their hands on a warm coat for the winter season.

All the coats collected in the Yakima area will be distributed by the Salvation Army and they tell us the goal is to collect at least 800 coats. So far, the response has been positive.

"We're just really grateful that this community is stepping up and helping to keep our kids warm this winter and everyone who donates and all of the businesses who have agreed to help us in this way," said Lt. Ryan Boyd.

We have drop-off locations at businesses in Toppenish, Wapato, Selah, Grandview, Sunnyside and here in Yakima as well as the Tri-Cities. FULL LIST OF LOCATIONS HERE

For information on how to get your hands on a coat, you can contact family services at the Salvation Army in Yakima at 509-453-3721.
