Pasco Police Investigating Female School District Employee for Sexual Misconduct With a Student

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, WA. -- A Pasco School District employee is on administrative leave Friday as police investigate her for sexual misconduct with a student.

Pasco Police confirmed to us Friday that they're investigating a 33-year-old woman for sexual misconduct with an underage student.

We learned that she worked in the front office and not as a teacher. The school district self reported the alleged incident on Tuesday to the Pasco Police Department who immediately started an investigation. Officers are conducting interviews and collecting evidence at this time. They say everyone involved is cooperating with the investigation.

We contacted the Pasco School District who sent this statement:

"Pasco School District received a report of inappropriate contact with a student by a Chiawana High School clerical staff member on November 10, 2015. The District reported the allegation to the Pasco Police Department and placed the individual on administrative leave. The District will continue to cooperate with law enforcement throughout the criminal investigation.

While we make no judgments of guilt at this time, if true, the allegations represent a breach of our trust and a disappointing departure from our standards for all district employees.  Safety of our students is the highest priority of our school and district staff.

Chiawana High School parents with questions should contact Chiawana Principal John Wallwork at 543-6786. Those who believe they have information related to the investigation should contact Pasco Police.

Due to the seriousness of the allegations, and to respect the integrity of the ongoing investigation, the Pasco School District will not be providing any additional information.  Media outlets should direct any further questions to law enforcement."
