RICHLAND, WA - Washington River Protection Solution recently presented a check of $127,000 to grow local "science, technology, engineering and math" programs in the Tri-Cities. WSU Tri-Cities is the recipient of $50,000 of that donation and plans to use that money to help fund STEM scholarships, research and faculty support in the Tri-Cities. This money will help their research in STEM fields going forward by letting them expand their capabilities and what students are able to do on campus.  The university says they want to support the growing interest in STEM opportunities for their faculty and students.

"If they come here as a graduate or an undergraduate student then they have these opportunities to pursue these pursuits through the research and grant money," says, Jeffrey Dennison, WSU Tri-Cities.

WSU also said that this grant money could lead to future donations as they look to improve their research and expand their work going forward.
