KENNEWICK, WA- Winter conditions may slow drivers down but with busy schedules they don't always keep drivers completely off the road. Accidents, pass closures and other winter events can mean unexpected time in your car. According to Washington State Department of Transportation, you want to prepare your vehicle for that unexpected time when you find yourself stranded on the side of the road.

A few of the items they suggest you put in your vehicle to help properly prepare are a flashlight, extra batteries, a blanket, cell phone charger, tire chains, an ice scraper and jumper cables. For a full list of items you can print off for yourself, click this link here

WSDOT also reminds drivers in the case of an emergency, stay in your car, turn on your flashers and wait for help to arrive.
