PENDLETON, OR - The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) has named The Pendleton Round-Up as the 2015 Large Outdoor Rodeo of the Year.

“Coupled with winning the Remuda Award for the most consistent and even bucking stock; winning the Large Outdoor Rodeo of the Year has made 2015 a truly outstanding success,” said Bill Quesenberry, the outgoing Pendleton Round-Up President. “It is a special tribute to all of our hard working volunteers who make the Pendleton Round-Up happen.”

“This award is special to the Pendleton Round-Up because we have always considered ourselves a “cowboys rodeo” and we are truly honored to have received their vote,” commented incoming President Bill Levy . “We invite rodeo fans everywhere to come join us the second full week September in 2016 to share in The Pendleton Round-Up experience and help us Let’er Buck.”

President Levy also expressed his congratulations to other members of the Pendleton Round-Up team, Bullfighter of the Year Dusty Tuckness; Coors Man in the Can and Clown of the Year Justin Rumford and Pick-Up Man of the Year Matt Twitchell. Levy observed that, “Having the best talent in the world provides top quality entertainment for our fans and the best safety possible for our competitors.”

Annually, five rodeos are nominated by a vote of the PRCA membership in category of Large Outdoor Rodeo of the Year. Other nominees in 2015 were Cheyenne, Wyoming, Lovington, New Mexico, Ogden, Utah and Salinas, California.
