HERMISTON, OREGON- A Hermiston man is dead after colliding with a semi truck, causing north and southbound lanes to close for about two and a half hours on Highway 207 Saturday night.

24-year-old Richard Cox of Hermiston pulled into a private driveway to change directions near milepost 5 when he backed out and got hit. 

Cox was taken from the accident scene to Good Shepard Hospital where he later passed away. The semi driver, 62-year-old Harvey Hass of Umatilla, was not injured in the crash.
