Kennewick Police Reminds Drivers of Traffic Trouble

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, WA- Kennewick Police took to Facebook to identify a traffic circumstance that has happened the past few weeks due to bad weather conditions. Sometimes in strong storms, power outages occur and also cause the traffic lights to go out.

KPD wants to remind drivers that with a situation like this you need to use extra caution approaching intersections without working traffic lights. We talked with Officer Nobel with Kennewick Police and he told us, "if all the lights go out and there's no lights working, same thing come to a complete stop look both ways and proceed with caution and if another car shows up you let the car on the right go first".

He continued to tell us in the case that the traffic light remains on but is flashing, stop and check surroundings before passing through.
