KENNEWICK, WA - Wednesday night Representative Brad Klippert hosted a panel discussion at the Kennewick library to discuss wildfire prevention.

This last year was devastating to not only Washington and Oregon families, but also our forests and land and he feels preparation is critical in disaster situations, especially fast-moving and unpredictable wildfires.

State Rep. Brad Klippert (R) 8th District said "So why not prevent forest fires in the future rather than just spending all the money to fight them. That's our goal, is to talk about how we can prevent these future forest fires. Rather than spending so many millions of dollars on just fighting them."

Representatives from the United States department of agriculture, U.S. Forest Service, Washington tate departments of natural resources, fish and wildlife, and ecology also appeared on the panel.

After presentations community members were able to ask the panel questions about their plans to prevent and protect the land from wildfires.
