KENNEWICK, WA - Kennewick Police said they made two significant burglary arrests after a guitar went missing from a church on South Auburn Street.

Officers had been watching Craigslist to see if the missing guitar would show up, and eventually found one similar to it's description..

While serving a search warrant on the address connected to the sale, detectives recovered stolen items from at least six recent burglaries in Kennewick.

38-year-old James Hartjen and 37-year-old George Hartjen were booked in the Benton County Jail on those burglary charges, George Hartjen has an additional charge of Traficking Stolen Property.

The investigation is linking police to some Pasco burglaries as well.

Investigators believe that the pair of burglars may have been stealing computers, refurbishing them, adding spy ware software and then selling them online.

Once a person purchased the new computer and started using it, the spy ware would send all of the personal information on the unsuspecting victim back to the Hartjen brothers so they could steal the identity.

KPD encourages anyone who may have recently purchased a used computer online to contact Kennewick Detectives to determine if their computer security had been compromised.
