BENTON COUNTY, WA- Benton County Fire District 2 says one of their firefighters got a call from a scammer, claiming to be from the Kennewick Firefighter and Paramedic Association.

A man on the phone claimed his name was John and asked for a one time donation for fallen firefighters in the Tri-Cities area.

When the actual firefighter questioned the donations, the man hung up the phone.

KFD and Local 1296 posted on their Facebook page saying they will never solicit you for money over the phone.
