Henrikson found guilty of all charges in murder-for-hire trial

RICHLAND, WA - James Henrikson has been found guilty in the murder-for-hire cases of KC Clarke and Doug Carlile. A jury announced their verdict Thursday morning in a Richland courtroom. Henrikson was found guilty of all charges against him and faces life in prison. 

Thursday morning everyone was notified that the jury of six men and six women had reached a verdict after failing to come to a decision in their first full day of deliberation. The jury took just two hours on Thursday to reach their verdict. 

Henrikson was found guilty on all 11 charges including the murder of Doug Carlile and K.C. Clarke.

  • Count Eight: Guilty of solicitation in death of Douglas Carlile 
  • Count Nine: Guilty of solicitation 
  • Count Ten: Guilty of solicitation 
  • Count Eleven: Guilty of distributing heroin

The family of Douglas Carlile broke down as the verdict was being read. They also let out an audible "Yes!" as it was announced he was guilty in the death of Doug Carlile.

"We are ecstatic as a family," Doug Carlile's son Shane told KHQ's Hayley Guenthner. "We can't thank the prosecution and the Spokane Police Department enough for all their hard word and dedication. Justice has been served and thank God."

Henrikson, wearing a grey suit, stood quietly next to his attorney as the verdict was read. 

Henrikson will be sentenced in Spokane on May 24, 2016.
