RICHLAND, WA- The City of Richland's stage at John Dam Plaza is almost complete and they have more parking options for guests.

The Hapo Community Stage will seat close to 2,500 people and there is already limited parking at John Dam Plaza.  The City of Richland said parking will not be an issue the stage is in the middle of downtown with various places to park.  John Dam Plaza is right on George Washington Way and is next to a few big parking lots like the Federal Building.

"We worked out an agreement with them and so there's like 900 parking spots there that are available evening and weekends, which is when we will be programming the stage.  The city has another 400-500 spaces depending on how far somebody wants to walk.  There is also the parkway, in the 3 Margaritas area, and at City Hall," said Joe Schiessl, City of Richland Parks and Public Facility's Director.

The City also made a deal with the Richland School District and Ben Franklin Transit.  The district will allow guests to park at Carmichael Middle School and Richland High School.

The stage is just a few weeks away from completion.  Workers still have to paint, do wiring, and place sod down.

The City of Richland said they have stated to plan their first event on April 9th.  It will be a free all-day event with classical performances, dance, spoken word, and more.
