UPDATE: Sunnyside Police Department still searching for possible luring suspect

SUNNYSIDE, WA.- Update: Sunnyside Police are still searching for a man they believe tried to lure a young girl into his car on Tuesday afternoon.

  

The suspect is described a white male in his 20's or 30's, with brown hair, around 5'10'', and possibly driving a small, white sedan.  

    

Police say they received a call that the man was trying to coax a young girl into his car near the Sierra Vista Middle School.  

    

The police report said that the girl ran away looking for help and the suspect did chase her a short way.

    

At this time Sunnyside Police are searching for the man and encouraging parents to take extra precautions.

"What we are asking for is that everyone be a little more vigilant and be aware of their surroundings and partner with us to let us know if anything seems out of the ordinary in their communities," Public Information Officer Scott Bailey said.

    

They are actively searching for this man and if you have any information you are asked to contact the Sunnyside Police Department.  

SUNNYSIDE, WA - Sunnyside Police Department wants to warn parents and students of a male suspect attempting to lure a female student into his vehicle in the school zone areas.

We received a report of a white male, late 20’s to early 30’s, between 5'10" and 6'0" in height, with brown hair and facial hair, driving a small, white,  4-door sedan trying to contact a female student after school. 

The man attempted to coax the student into his vehicle.  When the victim ran off looking for help, the man chased after her a short distance.

Police ask to people to contact the Sunnyside Police Department 509-836-6200 with any additional information that might lead to the identity of the suspect. 

Parents are encouraged to talk with their children and remind students to walk in groups whenever possible, and to report any suspicious people or vehicles that don’t seem to belong in the area.
