Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, WA.- One local business in Yakima has a sister office just outside of Brussels, Belgium. We checked in with them today to see if any of their employees were affected by the attacks this morning.

YHC Hops has multiple sister offices in China, Asia, and then one just 20 miles outside of Brussels, Belgium.

We spoke with their marketing and accounts Vice President, Pat Purcell, he told us they were in contact with their branch early this morning around 5 am.

The COE of the company even traveled to Belgium today; he's currently there with the staff.

They didn't want to speak on camera with us today, but they did release a statement.

"The seven employees at our European sales office, located 20 miles southeast of Brussels, and their families are safe and were not directly impacted by the terrorist events that took place in Belgium this morning. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and families impacted by this tragedy," Marketing Director, Pat Purcell, said in a statement.
