Benton City pays tribute to fallen heroes

Posted: Updated:

BENTON CITY, WA.-- In observance of Memorial Day in Benton City, members of the American Legion spoke, and retired music teacher, Vicky Bowles sang, and played taps for the guests of their ceremony. Organizers, including Honor Guard member, Orville Long, told us they're thankful to see a such respectful turnout.

"I put 21 years in the Navy, then retired from the Navy. I was in the Aviation Division.," Orville told KNDU. "I flew on and off aircraft carriers as a crew member. It just makes you feel proud to see the people come out here."

Orville was just one of the many Veterans present, but everyone, Veterans and non-Veterans alike, stood proud as they paid their respects.
