YAKIMA, Wash.---Yakima police opened fire on a man yesterday after they received a call about a domestic assault with a weapon. The call was made shortly after 11 last night. Police were told the suspect, Eleazar Salmonar was at the Yakima Valley Inn. As they approached Salmonar's room, he ran off with a hand gun on him, leaving police to shoot. However, Salmonar was not hit.

"Since no one was hit, there's no reason to put the officers on administrative leave," Public Information Officer, Mike Bastinelli said. "The officers are in fact I believe, back at work today."

Salmonar appeared in court today where he was charged with fourth degree assault along with possession of a stolen vehicle. His bail is set at 50-grand his next hearing will be June 20.
