Man facing charges after a standoff with police on Monday

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, WA.-- After holding police in a four-hour standoff at Cedars Apartments in Kennewick on Monday, 29-year-old Andres David Gonzales had his arraignment Tuesday morning at the Benton County Jail. He is currently being held for 72-hours by probable cause. His case will be reviewed on Thursday, June 30, where he will face three charges: 2nd degree assault, four counts of unlawful imprisonment, and 1st degree arson.

Gonzalez's court documents have also clarified some of the details of the standoff yesterday. They confirmed that he did try to choke and kill his sister, he did attempt to light the apartment on fire, and he was armed with a knife during the standoff.

Benton County officials also told us that this was not Gonzalez's first run in with the law.
