Know your local firework laws!

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, WA.--You might see the skies light up a little on Saturday as, in some areas, people are finally allowed to set off their Fourth of July fireworks. However, since every city has its own rules, we just want to make them all clear.

KENNEWICK: All fireworks are illegal.

PASCO: All fireworks are illegal.

RICHLAND: All airborne fireworks are illegal. Only grounded fireworks, such as sparklers and fountains, are legal.

Since we want everyone to be extra safe, we also spoke to Pasco firefighter, Ben Shearer, who had some tips for people celebrating this weekend.

"So if you buy [fireworks], wherever you bought them is a good place to light them... you know then that you're using fireworks that are allowed in that city. But really the safest thing is to leave it to the professionals . We spent lots of money here in the Tri-Cities, we have two shows you can attend. Let those people to the fireworks, go and enjoy those shows, and have everybody else be safe!"

For those of you looking for your firework fix this holiday, you can attend the River of Fire at Columbia Park, and the display at Gesa Stadium, both of which will take place on the fourth.
