Selah holds city council meeting to discuss aquatic center plans

Posted: Updated:

SELAH, WA - A city council meeting was held on Tuesday, July 13 to discuss plans for an aquatic center.

The plans are controversial, because the many families attending felt that they were promised something other than what the city is trying to give them.

The people want what they envisioned, but the city says that the budget can't necessarily support their visions.

Some citizens believe that it's all a matter of communication between the city, parks and recreation, and the people of Selah.

"Where things are at right now, is they're disjointed," Selah resident John Probst told us. "There's been a tremendous amount of effort put forth by the parks folks and the city of Selah, but they seem to be working in parallel with one another rather than jointly."

John said he is hopeful after seeing over one hundred people at the meeting.

The city will discuss these plans and find a common ground with everyone.
