35 pounds of drugs seized at Sunnyside airport

Posted: Updated:

SUNNYSIDE, WA - Police found 35 pounds of drugs in a duffel bag at the Sunnyside airport last Friday.

According to the affidavit, the two suspects were parked in a limited access zone when they took the bag out of their trunk, met with a third party, and gave them the bag. No information regarding the third party is known at this time, but we do know that the subject came from the airplane and was contacted by police, who found 7 pounds of meth, 23 pounds of cocaine, and 5 pounds of what is believed to be heroin.

The two suspects are being charged with 3 counts of delivery of a controlled substance, one for each drug involved.

They are currently being held with a bail set at one million dollars.

Because the two are not U.S. citizens and have no ties keeping them here locally, they will be held in custody and their arraignment will be August 1st.
