Eleven residents apply for Pasco City Council vacancy

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, WA - The City Council, in the October 3rd meeting, agreed to move ahead with filling the Council vacancy with interviews with selected applicants at an upcoming meeting.

The Council sought applicants from District 4 to fill the vacancy after the death of Councilmember Mike Garrison in late July.  The outreach effort led to eleven district residents applying for the opening:

  • Tawney Carrier
  • Reed Child
  • Chi Flores
  • Roberto Garcia
  • Kara Kaelber
  • Zahra Roach
  • Philipp Schmitt
  • Simon Serrano
  • Paul Seuberlich
  • Timothy Snider
  • Andrea Tullos

A panel of Councilmembers (Mayor Matt Watkins, Mayor Pro-Term Rebecca Francik, and Councilmember Bob Hoffmann) met this week to select applicants to be interviewed at an upcoming Council meeting (to be scheduled). After this meeting, Council would then officially fill the vacancy at the Regular Meeting on October 24th. Per the Municipal Code, this newest member of the City Council would stand for election in 2017.
