Red Mountain, WA -  Red Mountain, the novel, is on sale now, and has been for about three weeks now.  Author, Boo Walker, invites readers to experience the magic of Red Mountain, through his book, something he says he discovered 8 years ago.

"Back in my late 20's, I was in the financial business and I had a quarter-life crisis and decided that life was too short to do something that I really didn't believe in, so i packed it all up and moved out here," said Walker.

He's talking about Red Mountain, a place he became familiar with through his affinity for wine.

"I met a woman in Charleston, South Carolina, that started to teach me a lot and she introduced me to Washington state wine.  One day I walked in and gave me a bottle of hedges, I took it home and everything started to make sense," said Walker.

And so, his love affair with Washington state, and it's wine began.

"This thing started brewing inside of me, I had to get out to Washington state and learn how to drive a tractor, learn how to farm a vineyard, I just really needed to be connected to wine," said Walker.

2008 was the year of change for Boo, switching his career at the perfect time, just before the financial crash, he packed his bags and came to Eastern Washington.

"I found a little spot on Red Mountain down the road from Hedges Family Winery, I didn't tell them I was coming.   I moved in and knocked on their door a day later and they gave me a job in the vineyard," said Walker.

Since moving to Red Mountain, his love has only grown, and that is why he decided to write his third novel, as a love letter to the place.

"There is this beautiful tension on Red Mountain because we love each other, we hate each other sometimes, and we know each other way to well and that's a part of it it shows in the wines, and the art being created here," said Walker.

His love for the area, for the wine, and the people, he describes as eccentric, is what inspired him to create this story, centered around four main characters.

"One man is older, he ran a winery in California and now he is here in Red Mountain wanting to start one up; then there is a 17-year-old girl, who's parents are actors from Seattle; a single mother divorcee; and a man who was headed down the wrong path in life, until he moved to Red Mountain," said Walker.

By creating these four different story lines, and throwing them together on Red Mountain, Walker says he hopes readers will see the magic that happens.
You will get to understand, how life and experiences change the characters and what happens when these characters cross paths.

Walker says he just wants readers discover the feeling that he's had since moving to the area 8 years ago, he wants more people to come and want to visit Red Mountain.
