Mysterious sinking boat towed to shore

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, WA.--  A boat floating down the Columbia River has finally been towed to shore after more than a week.

It began last Friday, when, the boat took on water while docked at the Columbia Park Marina. From there, over the next week, it floated all the way down past the Blue Bridge, where it eventually lodged itself on some rocks on the Pasco side of the river.

Finally, on Saturday, officials from Allen Water Rescue Services were able to access the boat. They then pumped enough water out of it to tow it to shore at the East Boat Launch in Columbia Park.

Unfortunately, the work wasn't done there.

At this hour, those officials, and the boat's owner are still working to get it onto a trailer and fully out of the water. Despite the fact that there are no holes or leaks reported in the boat, it has continued to take on water.

We'll continue to update this story as we learn more.
