Kennewick School Board agrees to keep graduation date

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, WA - The Kennewick School Board has decided to keep graduation on June 3rd. In a survey given to students, more than 90% of seniors said they would rather go to school on Saturdays than move graduation because of snow days.

State law requires students be in school for 180 days and 1,027 hours.

KSD officials say the last day for most students is scheduled for June 14th, but seniors will need to make up at least three days. There are a few suggestions on how the seniors could make up those days. Some include a field trip, advanced placement study days, making the seniors come in for part of their spring break, or moving graduation.

The Pasco School District is expected to talk about making up their snow days during a meeting tonight.
