RICHLAND, WA - A 29-year-old woman who is 14 weeks pregnant was hit by a car a little after noon today.

It happened off of Columbia Center Boulevard in Richland, near the Zips restaurant. Medics were taking the woman to a hospital just as reporter Mackenzie Maynard arrived at the scene.

As for the driver, he was shaken up and told Mackenzie he didn't see the woman, and that she came out of nowhere.

Crews were on scene for a few hours as they continued talking to witnesses and investigating the incident. Police want to remind everyone that if you are crossing the street, be sure to always use a crosswalk and look both ways.

The woman's condition is unknown at this time.
