High school teacher wins Classroom Makeover surprise

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, WA - A Richland teacher is tasked with figuring out how to spend $500 for her classroom. Ronda Stewart is our latest Classroom Makeover winner.

A student and her family nominated Mrs. Stewart at River's Edge High School in Richland. Mrs. Stewart works with many different students on several different subjects, helping any way she can. All of the students we spoke with agree, Mrs. Stewart is one of the best.

"I've never had any kind of award or anything for teaching, so it was a real surprise and very much appreciated," said Mrs. Stewart.

Classroom Makeover is a partnership between NBC Right Now and Kadlec Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Stewart won $500 to spend on supplies in the classroom. She said she is going to talk it out with her students to decide how to spend it.

If you know a teacher who deserves to be recognized, nominate them here.
