Dialed In: Kennewick Fire Chief shares stories, perspective and inspiration

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, WA - He's a Pasco native, one of 11 kids in the big Beasley family and the first black fire chief in eastern Washington. However, it wasn't his first job offer for a chief. He turned the first one down despite being told it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Well, he proved those naysayers wrong and now leads the Kennewick Fire Department. Chief Vince Beasley took over the top job in 2014 but has been in the firefighting industry for nearly 40 years. He believes in "doing the right thing for the right reasons regardless of the consequences."

These days he has a family of his own, two grown boys and a few grandkids. Click on the video to learn more about him.
