Pasco School District implemented the Two-Way Dual Language Immersion Program in 2004. Through this exceptional education model, students learn to think, communicate, read and write in two languages: English and Spanish. The program begins in kindergarten and students continue together in a cohort through grade seven. TWDL students then have opportunities to continue their language studies in grade 8 through high school if they desire. The classrooms, as much as possible, are composed of an equal number of English and Spanish speaking students, who learn in both languages.
