Business Spotlight: Fredy's Steakhouse

KENNEWICK, WA - There's a new business in town that has a welcoming feel, with delicious food that will make you want to come back. Reporter Crystal Garcia checked out Fredy's Steakhouse over in Southridge, and she was impressed with how the restaurant had a warm and welcoming feel with only being open for just a month. But when the food came out, it was game over.

"We're trying to provide fresh, home-cooked food," said Jeff Ballard, the general manager at Fredy's Steakhouse. "All of our steaks are hand cut."

It's all in the name: Fredy's Steakhouse. Ballard says the menu is something he is passionate about; only offering the freshest ingredients in meals.

"We take the trimmings from our steaks and make our own hamburger meat," said Ballard. "We bring in fresh seafood and provide that fresh, crisp taste."

And the man behind all of the magic in the kitchen is Head Chef Phouty Vongsaly, who says he puts a little love into all of his dishes, especially his steaks.

"It's been cured, smoked, aged for a couple days, and it's cut to an inch and a quarter and it's served with potatoes and seasonal veggies."

If you're more of a seafood lover, they have options for you as well.

"Two shrimp dinners, Cancun shrimp and house shrimp dinner is amazing," said Vongsaly.

He even puts some loving into their simpler dishes, like their burgers. And to complement their tasty dishes, is a full bar.

"Being a steakhouse, we focus on bourbons, whiskeys, and scotch," said Ballard.

Whatever your preference may be, they have it. And you can't forget about dessert, of which they have a delicious selection.

"Come out, try us, give us your feedback," said Ballard. "We are always open to trying new things and having fun."
