CBC announces search for new President

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, WA - The Columbia Basin College Board of Trustees is announcing the search for the next president of Columbia Basin College via the Presidential Search webpage at columbiabasin.edu/presidentialsearch. The search begins today and includes advertising in many publications, websites and other formats.

Current president, Rich Cummins, is stepping down March 30th to take a job as a chancellor for Western Governors University. Cummins has worked at CBC for 27 years, the last nine as president. Former CBC president, Lee Thornton, will serve as interim president until a new president is named.

CBC Board of Trustees Chair, Kedrich Jackson, says, “We look forward to the search process and while a reasonable objective would be to have the next president named no later than the end of August for the beginning of fall quarter, we remain committed to finding the best candidate for the position under a revised timeline, if needed.”
